International Golden Roof Challenge Innsbruck
Every year the world's athletic elite come together in Innsbruck's Old Town to compete in the annual Golden Roof Challenge set against the mediaeval backdrop of the city's world-famous 'Goldenes Dachl'. World-class sportsmen and sportswomen battle it out in the disciplines of pole vault and long jump. The results attained here often play a key factor in the athletes' eligibility for participation in major sporting events such as the Olympic Games and so the competition among the athletes is accordingly high. Also at a maximum is the excitement among the spectators who are right up close to the action at eye level with the athletes.
Sport and entertainment
At the same time, this competition also marks the kick-off of the Golden Fly Series, a field athletics tour through several cities in the German-speaking region. And always in tow is the 'FlySwat', the world's largest mobile athletics track. But that's just one of many highlights for spectators: A colourful programme of supporting events also ensures first-class entertainment for visitors to this top sporting event.
