Head for the peaks on the region’s lifts and cable cars
You don’t always have to be extremely fit to reach the summit. At least, not in the Innsbruck region. Here, you can discover wonderful alpine landscapes on a leisurely tour thanks to the mountain lifts and cable cars, which take hiking enthusiasts up to their destination in comfort. Whether you want to visit a mountain hut, a viewpoint or a natural jewel: there’s no mountain too high if you take advantage of the lifts.
Axamer Lizum is a popular destination. One of the many reasons for this: the state-of-the-art Hoadlbahn gondola, which takes you up to an altitude of 2,340 metres above sea level.
Kühtai boasts breathtaking high alpine landscapes with many beautiful mountain lakes. You can get high up into the mountains on the DreiSeenBahn chairlift.
The Glungezer is the start and end point of the popular Zirbenweg trail. The quickest way to reach it is with the Glungezerbahn.
