Route to start

The Hoadlbahn, a state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift, takes you from 1,560 m to the panorama restaurant Hoadl-Haus at 2,340 m in just a few minutes. Even in the gondola you have a fantastic view of Innsbruck and the imposing Kalkkögel, also known as the "Dolomites of North Tyrol".  Once at the top, Tyrolean delicacies, refreshing drinks, cosy wellness loungers and sun chairs invite you to enjoy and linger.

Already from the middle station section of the Hoadlbahn, the Axamer Lizum offers many hiking opportunities. Particularly recommended is the laid out, wide "Herzlteichweg", which is easy to master even for the youngest mountain enthusiasts. With the magnificent panorama of the Kalkkögel constantly in view, the easy and family-friendly route leads to the reservoir in around 40 minutes and 120 metres in altitude. The Pleisen Panorama Trail, an easy 3-peak hike from Hoadl to Axamer Kögele, is also suitable for the whole family.

On the other side of the valley you can take the 2-seater chairlift - the Birgitzköpfllift - and hike up to the Nockspitze in just 370 metres of altitude or via the Hochtennbodensteig along the Kalkkögel to the Hoadl-Haus for a culinary treat. Afterwards, you can comfortably take the gondola back down to the car park.

The Welcome Card (from 3 nights) and Welcome Card unlimited (upgrade available for purchase) include one free ascent and descent (either with the Hoadlbahn or Birgitzkopf lift) per stay.

More detailed information about Welcome Card discounts is available directly from the provider or at innsbruck.info/welcome

Forecast

The weather in March will probably not be able to beat the weather of Wednesday: The morning will be sunny, clear and rather chilly. Already, the sun has the same intensity as in mid September and it will therefore be pleasantly mild for the season.

Tendency

This bright weather will last for another few days. There will be a few occasional clouds, but all in all the sun will dominate the sky and produce mild temperatures.
