Sellrain is one of the mountaineering villages in the Sellrain Valley. It is located about 20 minutes away from Innsbruck and it is where the untouched alpine nature that inspires hikers, mountaineers and ski touring enthusiasts begins. The village is located at the entrance to the valley, which means the journey from Sellrain to Innsbruck is very short, as is the time it takes to access numerous local tours in the Tyrolean mountains. The ski resort of Kühtai is also just a short drive or short ride on the free ski bus away.
Sellrain in summer
In summer, countless tours attract visitors up into the surrounding mountains, including leisurely mountain hut hikes, high-altitude hiking trails, themed trails and the chance to scale a three-thousand-metre peak. Sellrain is officially recognised as a "mountaineering village". The prerequisites for this: untouched natural surroundings far removed from mass tourism, and pristine nature.
Sellrain in winter
Sellrain enjoys an ideal location between the city of Innsbruck and the ski resort of Kühtai, which is situated over 2,000 metres above sea level. This mountaineering village is also a particularly good starting point for numerous ski tours. It is located right at the entrance to the Sellrain Valley, with which it shares its name, and is perfect for anyone who likes to enjoy alpine nature in winter and visit the city in between.
The Innsbruck Card
Visit museums, use public transport in the city and ride up to the most beautiful peaks for free.
The warm, yet not very stable summer weather will stay with us today. Weak high pressure and sultry, warm maritime air will continue to produce sunshine during the day and a moderate risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon and in the evening.
