The exhibition featuring the three award-winning artists is characterised by a precise examination of visual worlds, society and perception: Matthias Noggler (Grand Prize winner) develops a distinctive painterly visual language drawing on motifs from art history and pop culture, Vik Bayer (Encouragement Prize) combines in-depth research with an analytical yet poetic portrayal of ecological and social interrelationships in her video works, whilst Simona Obholzer (Encouragement Prize) translates questions about nature, standardisation and perception into clear, powerful visual expressions. The RLB Art Prize has been awarded every two years since 2004 by a rotating panel of experts and is one of Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol’s most important initiatives to support the regional art scene. Through an open call for entries, the prize is aimed at younger artists who were born in or live in the province of Tyrol.
