Cramped, measured, and utilized down to the last millimeter. Four edges that relentlessly draw the boundary and leave no room for maneuver. In an age when the “top” pushes down on the “bottom,” the ground beneath our feet becomes a luxury good. The lack of space is no coincidence, but the result of a system that has already swallowed up everything “outside.” Upon closer inspection, this confinement—which often takes our breath away—reveals the instability of a model that defines success solely in terms of “more.”
The “itsybitsy” exhibition, part of the Underbridge Festival 2026, is dedicated this time to the power of limitation: no larger than DIN A4. The resulting works view confinement and restraint as creative possibilities and offer a conscious alternative to the logic of growth and expansion.
