Längentaler Weißer Kogel
Learn more
This physically demanding but technically easy high-altitude ski tour is one of the most popular in the Westfalenhaus area, which is open from mid-February to the end of April and offers a winter room. The starting point is Lüsens, from where the route initially heads south to the materials cable car. There you branch off to the right and climb steeply through a wooded area to the Längentaleralm (1988 m). The flat valley floor is followed by an ascent to the steep step at the turn-off to the Hoher Seeblaskogel. Cross glacier moraines and hollows to reach the basin between Bachfallenkopf and Hinterer Brunnenkogel. At around 2900 metres, a wide right-hand bend leads westwards before the steep final ascent to the ski depot begins. The last few metres to the summit are mostly covered on foot. Despite some flat sections, the tour offers rewarding descents and an impressive high alpine backdrop.
