The Mieming Plateau is a true gem for anyone who likes to take it easy: although the plateau is located just a 35-minute drive from Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, it reveals a whole new side to the region. While most destinations in Tyrol are all about "heading for the heights", the Mieming Plateau offers a multitude of flat trails where people of all ages can get out and about and enjoy nature. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine every year and a lovely location at an altitude of 800 to 1,000 metres above sea level, the plateau boasts a landscape like no other.
What's more, the surrounding mountain scenery is perfect for long hikes with beautiful panoramic views in both summer and winter, with plenty to discover around every corner. In winter, easy, well-maintained hiking paths lead through enchanting snowy landscapes and invite the whole family to enjoy a short stroll or longer walk in the pleasant winter sun. There is also a tobogganing hill with a magic carpet lift at the "Holzeisbichl" in Mieming, which is sure to put a smile on every child's face.
