Sistrans is located southeast of Innsbruck at the foot of Patscherkofel mountain and is a popular residential area for locals. The village's quiet location on an alpine plateau with views of the Nordkette mountain range is particularly wonderful. For culture enthusiasts, Sistrans has a parish church dedicated to the Belgian abbess Gertrud von Nivelles. In summer, it is well worth taking a walk along the bee nature trail, which leads through picturesque landscapes and features several information boards.

The village is also very appealing in winter thanks to the wide selection of winter sports. You can be on the slopes at Patscherkofel ski resort in no time.

In summer, the Speckbacherweg path is a popular route for hikers. It is named after a famous Tyrolean freedom fighter who battled alongside Tyrol's hero Andreas Hofer. The leisurely trail covers 15 kilometres and passes through the villages around Patscherkofel mountain. There are several benches along the way where you can relax and admire the beautiful views.

For something a little more challenging, there is a hike up to the Sistranser Alm mountain hut, which is located 1,600 metres above sea level. The views of Innsbruck are particularly beautiful from up there.
