Sistrans is known for its quiet location overlooking the Nordkette mountain range. In winter, you can enjoy tobogganing from the Sistranser Alm mountain hut. In summer, it is well worth visiting the bee nature trail, which is set in a picturesque landscape and features several information boards.

For hikers, the Speckbacherweg path is a popular route. It is named after a famous Tyrolean freedom fighter who battled alongside Tyrol's hero Andreas Hofer. The leisurely trail covers 15 kilometres and passes through the villages around Patscherkofel mountain. There are several benches along the way where you can relax and admire the beautiful views.
For something a little more challenging, there is a hike up to the Sistranser Alm mountain hut, which is located 1,600 metres above sea level. The views of Innsbruck are particularly beautiful from up there.
The village is also very appealing in winter thanks to the wide selection of winter sports. You can be on the slopes at Patscherkofel ski resort in no time.

Happily, the tough measures in place over the last few weeks have been successful. Thanks to a reduction in infection rates, some facilities, shops and accommodation providers are now able to reopen. This page shows which accommodation providers, shops and cultural sites are open for visitors.
