The Rocky Horror Show

The boss of this illustrious society from the planet Transsexual in the Transylvania galaxy is Frank’n’Furter, a mad scientist with considerable sex appeal. Thanks to him, Janet and Brad are at least able to question some of their heteronormative narrow-mindedness. Good for them! But how is Rocky, created in the finest Frankenstein tradition, actually coping with the role as a sex object intended for him by Frank’n’Furter? How much longer will Magenta, Riff Raff and the other castle dwellers be content to cheer Frank’n’Furter on and dispose of body parts for him?
The Rocky Horror Show began as a gamble on a small studio stage; in cinemas, it was initially a commercial flop. From day one, however, it was and remains a home and a celebration for the queer community. As is so often the case, the so-called mainstream took a little longer – but then embraced the musical and film all the more enthusiastically into the canon of absolute cult classics. 50 (!) years after the cinema version was released, the Landestheater is now once again declaring: Let’s do the time warp again!
By the way: An active audience has always been part of The Rocky Horror Show! We’re looking forward to that too. Please note the following guidelines.
Whether you’re dressed as a Transylvanian or a Tyrolean, in suspenders or a traditional jacket, in drag, an evening gown or jogging gear: come as you feel comfortable, and respect how others feel comfortable! Laughing, crying, gasping, heckling, dancing along – we welcome anything that expresses our shared joy! Props such as newspapers, rubber gloves, party hats or small torches are welcome – however, for reasons of sustainability and out of respect for our beautiful auditorium, other attendees and our cleaning staff, we ask that you refrain from splashing water and throwing rice, confetti or any other objects, and that you do not use lighters or sparklers. Food is also better kept at home than in the theatre auditorium. When leaving the auditorium, please take everything you brought with you and leave your seat as you found it. Thank you very much for your consideration, and here’s to some legendary evenings!
