The story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a gift and dreams of it transforming into a fairy-tale prince captivates people of all ages around the world.
For a few hours, you are whisked away from everyday life into the romantic and imaginative world of dreams and longings.
After the guests have left on Christmas Eve, Clara goes back to her presents. There she falls asleep. At midnight, the nutcracker and the dolls come to life, and Clara suddenly finds herself in the midst of a magical world. Snowflakes and dancing flowers accompany the girl on her journey to the realm of the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. An enchanting Christmas fairy tale that delights ballet fans of all ages at every performance.
The world premiere of the ballet “The Nutcracker” took place at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in December 1892.
The show is presented by the International Ballet Company Italia, under the artistic direction of Alessandro Bonavita.
