With a cocktail in his hand, sunshine on his face and the glittering sea before his eyes, former spy John D. is enjoying his retirement in a luxury hotel on the Côte d’Azur. When his alluring neighbour vanishes without a trace, John is confronted with the demons of his past. Have his former adversaries returned to shatter his idyll? The boundaries between dream and reality, present and past, blur not only in terms of the plot: inspired by the Eurospy and Giallo films of the 1970s, Cattet and Forzani stage a breathtaking visual feast that keeps the viewer captivated right through to the compelling finale. (Mattias Fabian)
