The Heiligwasser alpine guesthouse enjoys a picturesque location on Patscherkofel mountain, at an altitude of 1,240 metres above sea level. The guesthouse is a legendary destination for hikers and mountain bikers and also a religious pilgrimage site with a long history. However, you don't have to be a pilgrim to enjoy the wonderful cuisine, which features a combination of Tyrolean home-cooked food and traditional Austrian dishes.

A location with a history
After your meal, it's well worth taking a short walk to explore the local area. The restaurant is located near a small church built on a site that is said to contain a spring with healing water. This area is steeped in history dating back centuries and was even once visited by Emperor Franz Joseph. Another mysterious location can be found just a short walk away: the Goldbichl hill, which was already worshipped as a sacred site in the Bronze Age.
