Where Emperor Maximilian I once stored weapons and ammunition, you can now explore Tyrolean history and stories between past and present in the ‘Treasure Tyrol’ exhibition. What do archaeological finds reveal about the first settlements in Tyrol? What economic and political conditions have prevailed over the centuries? How has the land in the mountains shaped and continues to shape its inhabitants and their everyday lives? What role did and does sport and tourism play for the people of Tyrol and how have they developed? In the Museum im Zeughaus, themed islands provide insights into Tyrol's past, while interactive stations build bridges to the present. Personal stories highlight the perspectives of Tyroleans. Together with selected objects from the collection, they make times long past tangible. Some everyday objects from grandma's time may make you nostalgic, but the Museum im Zeughaus also invites you to critically scrutinise history. Areas that regularly feature new themes provide an opportunity to rediscover the history of Tyrol time and time again.
Information on accessibility: All areas are accessible for wheelchair users. A disabled toilet is available. The inner courtyard is paved, but independent driving is possible
