The free ski bus in the regions around Innsbruck

The free ski bus is your free shuttle service to the ski resorts. It serves all of the towns and villages in the Innsbruck region, which means you can enjoy village charm combined with the benefits of a great bus link. Simply go to one of the specified bus stops with your ski equipment and Welcome Card – the bus service is free of charge. At the end of the day, you can then treat yourself to a drink or two in the ski resort before enjoying the relaxing bus ride home.

Please note: The details about the ski bus are from last season and are partially outdated. Up-to-date information for this winter can be found here from the beginning of December 2025.

From Ellbögen and Patsch

The villages Patsch and Ellbögen are located near the Patscherkofel ski area. Two ski bus connections are available from these villages at the start of your ski day: one free ski bus leads directly to Patscherkofel ski resort, the other free shuttle service takes you to the ski bus stop in Igls. From there, you can change buses and take the ski bus to the Stubai Glacier (not available every day). Please be sure to register for your bus of choice the day before.

Please always have your Welcome Card ready when getting on the ski buses. The driver will thank you for it.

From the western and southern alpine plateaus

You want to go to the skiing areas Stubai Glacier or Schlick 2000? For all those staying in the towns of the southern and western low mountain range, this is the ideal connection. The free ski bus stops in many towns in the region. It takes you to the lift in the morning on Tuesday and Friday and back again in the afternoon. It is essential that you register for this at the tourist information offices in Igls and Axams by 4.30 pm the day before.

Please note: if there are fewer registrations, a local shuttle taxi will take you from your accommodation directly to the main stop of the free ski bus. From here, the free collective ski bus will take you to the Schlick 2000 and Stubai Glacier ski areas and back again.

Please always have your Welcome Card ready when getting on the ski buses. The driver will thank you for it.
