Looking for the best places to start the day with a really good breakfast? Then you've come to the right place! I'll introduce you to three very different breakfast places around Innsbruck - each of them unique and highly recommended. From a cozy alpine breakfast with a mountain view to a sweet breakfast café to a stylish restaurant in the trendy hygge style: there is something for every taste here. Let yourself be inspired and discover your new favorite places for the perfect start to the day!

The early bird catches the worm - the Early Bird

The Early Bird in Telfs is a delightful breakfast place that opens its doors Monday to Saturday from 07:00 to 14:30. You can feel the typical cozy café charm as soon as you enter. There is even a small children's corner, making it ideal for families. The selection of breakfast options is huge: from classic breakfast menus, each of which includes a hot drink, bread and various spreads, to porridge, tortillas and vegan delicacies and burgers - there really is something for everyone here. The creative menu names such as "Hock di her", "Sou a Kas" or "Lausbua" are particularly eye-catching.

A trip to South Africa - only cheaper

I was in the mood for an avocado sandwich. Admittedly, avocado has long been a breakfast classic, but that doesn't make it any less delicious - quite the opposite. My husband was braver and embarked on an imaginary trip to South Africa with the "Feel Cape Town" menu. The combination of sweet waffles, poached egg, avocado cream, hollandaise sauce, cream cheese and salmon makes breakfast dreams come true. Of course, a sweet finish is a must for a perfect breakfast. For us, it was the French toast - wonderfully fluffy, it could have been just a little sweeter for my taste. Nevertheless, it was the crowning glory of an all-round successful morning at the Early Bird.

Alpine breakfast and hut brunch on the Stöttlalm

The Stöttlalm is a very special place for me - after all, this is where we got married. But the Alm is not just a fantastic wedding location and a popular excursion destination on the beautiful Mieminger Plateau. It is also the perfect place for an extended breakfast with friends or family. Here you can not only enjoy a breathtaking view of the Tyrolean mountains, but also a culinary experience that leaves nothing to be desired. And, let's be honest: it tastes even better after a short walk.

Enjoyable hike and breakfast with a view

But don't worry - you don't have to climb a mountain here. The best place to park is at the Sonnenplateau parking lot near the Alpenresort Schwarz. From there, take a leisurely stroll across meadows, past the golf course and after around 20 minutes you will reach Stöttlalm. A delicious breakfast or sumptuous brunch awaits you there. However, if you set off spontaneously, you might be disappointed. "We are often fully booked weeks in advance, so it's best to book early make a reservation", a friendly waitress explains to me. No wonder, because word has long since spread about the delicacies that await you here:

The perfect start to the day

The alpine breakfast (daily from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm) spoils you with a selection of regional specialties. Fresh jams, farmhouse butter, natural yogurt with muesli and fruit, different types of bread, tangy cheese and the best sausage specialties form the perfect basis for a successful start to the day. For a savory treat, there are scrambled eggs and bacon, while fresh juices and a hot drink of your choice round off the offer. The whole thing is available for 24 euros per person - and the fantastic mountain backdrop is included free of charge.

If you're looking for even more variety, the hut brunch (9:30 to 13:00) is just the thing. For 35 euros per person, you not only get the classic alpine breakfast, but also additional delicacies such as salmon, veal sausage with sweet mustard and filled pancakes. Whether with ice cream, jam or Nutella - these pancakes are a dream! They are served with freshly squeezed orange juice, Prosecco and, of course, a selection of hot drinks that leaves nothing to be desired.

Do you love Nordic design, a cozy feel-good atmosphere and a breakfast that not only tastes good but is also made with love? Then you've come to the schauplats in Axams is the right place for you! This is where Scandinavian interior design meets Tyrolean hospitality - and shopping meets homemade cakes, filter coffee and delicious bagels. What's special about schauplats? It is much more than just a breakfast place. On 120 m², you can browse through hand-picked home accessories and decorative items before making yourself comfortable in the adjoining coffee house. The furnishings? Of course - how could it be otherwise - hygge!

Bagel love: From New York to Axams

At the beginning of February, my husband and I were in New York - in addition to the countless sights, I was particularly impressed by the breakfast culture there. There are bagels on every street corner - these wonderful round pastries with a hole in the middle that are first boiled and then baked. This makes them crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. It simply tastes irresistibly good. I still remember asking my husband: "Why aren't bagels a thing in our house? How cool would it be if we had a bagel breakfast place?"
And then - as if ordered by the universe - we discovered schauplats back in Tyrol on a recommendation. Although its style is based on Scandinavia, it immediately reminded me of America. Because of the bagels! They are simply perfect here. Just like the homemade cakes, brownies and irresistible cinnamon buns.

Bagels, waffles & much more - a great start to the day

The stars of the breakfast menu are - of course - the bagels. Whether classic with sesame, wholemeal, sunflower or pumpkin seeds - the agony of choice is just beginning. Because what do you top them with? Spicy with egg and bacon? With cream cheese, butter or homemade Nutella? No matter, they all taste good! If - for reasons I don't understand - you don't like bagels, there's creamy porridge, crunchy granola with yoghurt and fresh fruit or fluffy buttermilk waffles - all lovingly homemade. Served with a cup of the famous Swedish filter coffee, which will give you a good start to the day with its smooth aroma. If you prefer a tangy drink, you can treat yourself to one of the creative craft lemonades.
