Katie Mahan in the Innsbruck region
Once upon a time there was an American pianist who dreamed of giving a concert at over 2,300 metres above sea level. This wish led Katie Mahan to the Innsbruck region and the top of the Hoadl in Axamer Lizum. On 14 April, her dream will come true! The atmosphere at the top of this mountain is simply indescribable: raw nature, huge rocky crags, clear air and the city in the valley below. Now imagine the passionate melodies Katie conjures up from the piano in front of this unique backdrop. This combination will make her concert a truly unforgettable experience! And after the event, people are sure to talk about how, once upon a time, Katie Mahan performed on the peaks of the Innsbruck region.
Spring fever in the mountains and city
The Innsbruck region offers a really cool combination of city and nature. You can wander through museums, galleries and boutiques during the day and then head to a cool bar in the evening – preferably one with a view of the mountains so you can see where you'll be hiking the next day. Or would you rather go biking? Either way, getting up into the mountains is a must at least once during your stay. At the top, simply take a deep breath, relax and feel the freedom. If you want to travel up into the mountains in comfort, you can take a lift. The lifts and cable cars in and around Innsbruck whisk you up into high alpine terrain in no time at all. For example, you can take the Nordkettenbahnen lifts and cable cars directly from the city centre or the Patscherkofelbahn gondola from the south of the city. Alternatively, you can head further out into the area around Innsbruck. All of the lifts and cable cars are accessible by public transport.
