The Almen Trail

910 M 910 M
13.3 KM 13.3 KM
A very varied and attractive trail running route that leads around the Patscherkofel from mountain hut to mountain hut. The trail starts at the middle station of the Patscherkofel cable car and leads along a forest path past the Patscher Alm hut and further south on forest soil into the quiet Viggartal valley. Following the hiking trail "Almenweg 1600", you reach the Meissner Haus after approx. 7 km (forest path). From there the trail continues uphill in a northerly direction to Alpengasthof Boscheben. You have to climb about 300 m in altitude on a narrow hiking trail. Continue along the Zirbenweg (rock, gravel) in an easterly direction until you reach the junction "Issboden, Sistranser Alm" on the left. After the Sistranser Alm hut, continue westwards along a forest path to the Lanser Alm hut and then in serpentines along a steep ascent to the mountain station of the Patscherkofel cable car 200 m higher up, the end point of the Almen Trail.

The Drei-Gipfel-Runde three peaks circuit

833 M 833 M
10.9 KM 10.9 KM
A beautiful and challenging trail running route that covers all three of the surrounding peaks. If all three peaks are too much, you can simply take a shortcut from Boscheben by following the Zirbenweg trail to skip the summit of Patscherkofel. Starting at the mountain station of the Patscherkofel cable car, this trail follows the Zirbenweg trail eastwards on a slight incline to the "Issboden" (gravel, rock). From there, after a 90° bend on the right, the trail climbs steadily to the first peak, the "Neunerspitze", which is reached after more than 400 metres in altitude. Continue in a southerly direction alternating uphill/downhill along a narrow hiking trail to the next peak, the "Viggarspitze". Continue west downhill to the Boscheben Alpine Inn, from where you climb the "Patscherkofel", the third and last peak of the tour after a further 230 metres in altitude. From the summit of the Patscherkofel, the trail descends directly to the mountain station of the Patscherkofel cable car. A head for heights and good surefootedness are prerequisites for this tour!

The Dreiseenrunde three lakes circuit

447 M 447 M
8.8 KM 8.8 KM
From the starting point at the tourist information centre, cross the street and follow the path that leads uphill behind the church. The route takes you east and steadily uphill until you reach the Hirschebensee lake. From there, the route continues towards the Finstertal reservoir, past the Mittlerer Plenderlessee lake, the Drei-Seen-Hütte mountain hut and finally the Unterer Plenderlessee lake. At the highest point of the tour, right next to the impressive dam, the route joins a paved road and follows it downhill, past the Graf Ferdinand Haus mountain hut. Shortly after passing the High Altitude Training Centre, you'll come to the main road that leads through Kühtai. If you follow this road uphill for a short distance, it brings you back to the starting point.

The Finstertal trail

250 M 250 M
7.1 KM 7.1 KM
The start of the Finstertal trail can be reached by taking the Drei-Seen-Bahn chairlift or via the Dreiseeinrunde three lakes circuit. The route leads downhill past the Drei-Seen-Hütte mountain hut to the Finstertal reservoir. From there, a small path meanders along the bank of the reservoir and into the valley. The undulating path and incredible views make this section something really special. As soon as the trail starts to turn away from the water, you have reached the end of the route and should turn around and follow the same path back. Our tip: you can create another great route by combining this one with the Dreiseenrunde three lakes circuit!

The Gletscherblick-Runde

148 M 148 M
6.4 KM 6.4 KM
An easy and entertaining circuit for sun lovers who like running over green meadows with constant views of the Stubai Glacier in the distance.   The route starts at the former valley station of the Patscherkofel cable car in Igls/Bilgeristraße. Immediately head west along the gravel path to the slightly higher "Kurpark". Cross the park straight ahead on the asphalted "Eugenpromenade". At the end you cross the Patscher Straße (asphalt). Straight ahead along the Gletscherblickweg, after a few metres the path branches off to the left uphill towards "Rosengarten", the highest point of the trail (forest path). Follow the descending gravel path in a southerly direction to the "Grünwalder Hof". A few metres before the Grünwalder Hof hotel, the trail turns right in a 90° bend and zigzags downhill to the Gletscherblickweg, where it turns right in a northerly direction back to the Kurpark and the trail's starting point (gravel/asphalt).

The Heiligwasser circuit

351 M 351 M
8.8 KM 8.8 KM
A beautiful circuit that mostly sticks to trails and has one short but challenging uphill section.   The route starts at the former valley station of the Patscherkofel cable car in Igls/Bilgeristraße. Immediately head west along the gravel path to the slightly higher "Kurpark" park. At the crossroads with the "Girglweg", turn left and continue straight ahead on a steady, gentle ascent through the Serleswald forest (forest path) to the Römerstrasse. Cross the road and immediately turn right into the Speckbacherweg (forest path). Continue westwards until shortly before the Patsch district of "Gstill" you turn sharp left into the Johannesweg. Follow this path upwards for about 5 km until you reach the highest point of the trail, the Heiligwasser Alpine Inn (forest path). Continue straight on, crossing the "Viller Bach" stream, until you reach a 90° bend on the left and after approx. 400m another 90° bend back to the "Badhaussiedlung" (path/gravel path). Cross the Römerstraße and run past the Golf Cafe in a northerly direction back to the starting point, the "Alte Talstation" (forest path/asphalt).

Knappen trail

7.3 KM 7.3 KM
A crisp and very challenging trail up to the Rauschbrunnen Inn above the Innsbruck district of Kranebitten. The route offers a wonderful view over Innsbruck and the possibility to stop at the inn. Then back again via almost forgotten trails in the Knappental valley. Suitable all year round in mild winters, but especially great in spring and autumn.
