Explore Innsbruck without barriers: Experience the treasures of our beautiful city without barriers - it's possible!
We would like to introduce wheelchair users, people with disabilities and families with pushchairs to a suitable tour through our beautiful old town and to the special sights. Whether alone or with a companion, the sightseeing tour is suitable for everyone. The museums along the tour are all barrier-free. It is a little easier with an accompanying person who opens the entrances to the museums. However, it is also possible to call the respective museums using the telephone numbers provided so that the doors can be opened for exciting discoveries.
Our tour through the centre of Innsbruck starts at the Imperial Palace, as this is where the most central disabled parking spaces are located on Rennweg. Nearby is also the Innsbruck Museumstraße station, which is served by lines 1, 2, 650, A, C, J, K, M and the Nightliner. The lines are barrier-free with ramps, further information can be found on the website of the Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe (IVB).
We make our way through the historic city centre with a short detour to the Inn, discover Innsbruck's central shopping street and end at one of the most important sights: the Imperial Court Church. If there is still time, we recommend taking the Hungerburgbahn cable car for a breathtaking view over the city and the surrounding mountains.
Note: We have tried to the best of our ability to design a tour that can be experienced by everyone. If further information is required due to specific needs, please enquire at the respective institution or contact office.@innsbruck.info.
