A lot is happening in Innsbruck: restaurants, pubs and bars are opening and closing. Of course, there are the classics, those places that have been an integral part of Innsbruck's gastronomic landscape for years - popular with tourists and locals alike. But these are not what this article is about. I would like to introduce you to restaurants that have just opened their doors this year. Some are already making a name for themselves, others are still insider tips.

Fine Dining in the Bögen

Casual fine dining is the new trend for casual enjoyment. Fancy dining yes, suit and evening gown no! The Marta, a small eatery in the Bogenmeile, offers just that: a relaxed, friendly environment and popular dishes where performance and price fit. The „Bögen“, as it is called by locals, is known as Innsbruck's party mile. The location seems rather unusual for a place like Marta at first. "The surroundings are unique, due to the railroad and the newly designed Klimapark, it is almost like a new city district," explains Dr. Martina Foradori, management of BOGEN Gastro GmbH. The Bögen at this altitude - i.e., near the trade fair - are in a state of flux, and through eateries such as the A CASA or the Planschbar a whole new atmosphere is being created.

Among other things, Marta focuses - as far as possible - on regionality. The coffee, for example, is sourced from the Tyrolean roastery unbound obtained. Marta's onion roast, which turns out to be a tender steak of steak quality, is a must-try.
If you're looking for the perfect location for a private party, you'll find it at Marta. The one-room venue can be rented for a relaxed private party.

Above the roofs of Innsbruck

Right next to Innsbruck's main train station is the newly opened Motel One. It impresses with modern design and a top location. In just a few minutes you can reach the city center on foot. The Japandi-style rooms are designed to make you feel at home. Free Wi-Fi, a varied breakfast and courteous service are a matter of course at Motel One. The absolute highlight, however, is the rooftop bar - my recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy a good drink with a breathtaking view over Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains. Snuggled up in one of the spacious lounge chairs at one of the large panoramic windows, the day can end perfectly and the evening can be enjoyed.

Seek and you shall find

If you're looking for a quick, vegan snack, you'll find it at the Vitrine you will find it. Fündig comes from find, and that's a little hard to do at this small eatery. The snack bar, which offers take-away, is somewhat hidden in the Salurnerstraße next to the Vapiano. But it's definitely worth the search. On offer are changing creations in pita bread or wrap, filled with vegetables, salad, bean falafel or mushroom gyros, plus homemade sauces, fries and drinks. Stop by, it's worth it. By the way, you can find even more vegan restaurants at Arno.

The new trendy restaurant in Innsbruck

The first time I entered the Fuchs & Hase together with my blogger colleague Lea. She was probably as excited about the „Palomas“ (best long drink I've ever had) as I was. Be sure to hop over to her later, because she wrote a wonderful and very detailed article about the new trendy pub at the Domplatz wrote. Nevertheless, it is a great concern for me to introduce you to the Fuchs & Hase here again.

If you are looking for unusual drinks that you can't get on every street corner, if you want to have fun and simply have a good time, Fuchs & Hase is the right place for you. Everyone gets their money's worth here. Keyword "everyone": Everyone is welcome, as Georg Waldmüller - the second owner besides Stephan Haas - explains to me: "Our goal is to unite people who want to have a good time. The professional background stays outside. It's all about the people here!" A good motto, in my opinion. Stephan and Georg are perfect hosts, they make every guest feel like they belong here.

But my main reason for liking Fuchs & Hase so much is the drinks. I could rave about the aforementioned „Palomas“ forever - tequila and grapefruit have never tasted better. But I might not get „Paloma“ at all on my next visit. The menu changes constantly. You can only rely on the quality, but not on the fact that the drink you liked yesterday will still be on the menu tomorrow. But that doesn't matter, because you always have a reason to come to Fuchs & Hase and be surprised.

Japanese delicacies in Innsbruck

A place for special occasions and sushi lovers is the Umaya in the Angerzellgasse. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you feel at home. It is manageable, modern and simply furnished. On the menu you can find Japanese specialties, especially sushi. The portions could be a bit bigger and the prices a bit lower, but the quality is good, and that's the most important thing. I particularly recommend the wakame salad: seaweed and vegetables in a sesame oil marinade - delicious.

A trip around the world

With good food and good wine the restaurant advertises KameLion. You can look forward to national and international dishes. A glance at the menu reveals that the culinary journey takes us around the globe. In addition to glass noodle Asia bowl or penne pomodoro with mozzarella, you'll also find Tyrolean classics like potato and vegetable gröstl with fried egg. The fondue evening, which takes place every Saturday, also sounds exciting. Here, too, you are spoiled for choice: whether classic with pork tenderloin, beef and chicken or rustic with venison, exotic with salmon and shrimp or rather really exclusive with lamb and veal, there is something here for every taste. Even for vegetarians, they are best to order the cheese fondue. Unfortunately, I have not yet been personally in KameLion. But if the positive guest reviews are to be believed, I definitely missed something and should reserve a table as soon as possible.

There is nothing like a relaxed evening with dear friends, good food and good drinks. I hope I was able to give you some inspiration with this post. Foodies should also definitely stop by Christian. He takes you on a culinary journey of a different kind. Fiona introduces you to three great restaurants. And as an old coffee aunt, I don't want to deprive you of my favorite cafés. If you still can't find what you're looking for, you'll definitely find it here. Innsbruck is a city for gourmets and connoisseurs!
