Cycle from the Alps to the sea A multi-day tour through three countries (Germany, Austria and Italy) with many natural attractions, cultural highlights, traditional towns, historical sights, Tyrolean dishes, alpine lakes, imperial palaces and impressive castles along the way. Bus and train connections are available. The route covers 560 kilometres from start to finish and traverses many different worlds along the way. Specifically, the five different experience worlds covered on the individual stages. The Bavarian part of the route features idyllic waterways and lakes, the treasures of Tyrol enchant bikers during the second stage and in South Tyrol, a charming combination of alpine and Mediterranean lifestyle awaits. Riders then pass the impressive Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site, before reaching the final stage across the Venetian Plain, past grand villas, small Italian towns and historic locations. A tempting diversion: taking a dip in the sea in Jesolo before venturing into the hustle and bustle of the lagoon city of Venice. Stage 2: The treasures of Tyrol The route leads from the sparkling green waters of Lake Achensee, through the Inn Valley to the city of Innsbruck. There are plenty of places to visit along the way, for example the famous Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens. This sparkling attraction features a shimmering crystal forest, as well as many other carefully designed and impressively staged crystal creations. If rhinestones are not your scene, you can simply continue the ride past the old silver-mining town of Schwaz and the idyllic town of Hall to Innsbruck. If you have the time, the Capital of the Alps is perfect for a quick stopover. Delicious traditional meals such as the "Tiroler Gröstl" potato dish or "Kaspressknödel" cheese dumplings feature on the many restaurant menus and you can take a trip up to 2,000 metres above sea level on the Nordkettenbahnen lifts and cable cars to enjoy breathtaking alpine views. Discover culinary highlights from local producers! On the Cycle & Savour bike path in the Inn Valley west of Innsbruck, the focus is not on the kilometres covered but instead on local products. 24 stops along the route provide delicious delights ranging from honey and schnapps to home-grown fruit. Cyclists can pick up souvenirs from the various local business and farmers along the way or put together the perfect ingredients for a delicious picnic. The local producers of these tasty specialties are not only accessible by bike but also on foot or by car. The 35-kilometre-long Cycle & Savour route on the Mieming Plateau is a scenic ride with an added bonus for leisurely cyclists: in addition to beautiful views, it is also possible to sample Tyrolean cuisine at the guesthouses and direct sellers along the way. Good route markings lead from one local seller to the next. The producers of these tasty local specialties are also easily accessible on foot or by car.

The Inn Cycle Path – following the river downstream through Innsbruck The Inn Cycle Path offers 520 kilometres of pure biking fun. It follows the river from its source in the Engadine in Switzerland until it meets the Danube in the German town of Passau. The biking paradise of Innsbruck lies in the middle of the route. Bikers can enjoy impressive landscapes, amazing panoramic mountain views and idyllic riverside trails. Innsbruck also offers history, sightseeing and delicious cuisine. Perfect for replenishing energy levels after a hard day on your bike.   The section from Silz to Innsbruck Anyone who starts in Switzerland will pass through the Inn Valley region on the section between Silz (start in Landeck) and Innsbruck. The route passes Telfs and Zirl and then continues on past the Martinswand climbing paradise to Innsbruck. The route runs along the shore of the River Inn at a slight but constant decline without any ascents. ATTENTION massive asphalt damage in the Mötz (Birgele) section!   The section from Innsbruck to Strass From Innsbruck, the Inn Cycle Path continues down the River Inn, past the village of Rum, on to the town of Hall in Tirol and then further along the river past Kufstein. An easy family-friendly bike tour, partly on the circular "Sonnenplateau Rundwanderweg" hiking trail, with several places to cool off along the way. Start at the swimming lake car park in Untermieming - head northeast towards Untermieming - continue past the hamlet of Fiecht and along the Fiechter Valley - cross the main road - continue via Unterfeld and past the outlying farms to Wildermieming - head west via the Brente settlement to Obermieming - pass Lehnbach car park and cross the bridge to join the Steinreichweg trail - continue south via Barwies and Seegasse street - pass the hamlet See - Tabland - from Zein back to the starting point  

A family-friendly bike tour along the peaceful "Nasses Tal" from Völs to Axams. This route leads uphill at a moderate gradient from the rest area Völs/Axamer Bach (altitude 581 m) via the Bauhof district and along the "Nasses Tal" stream to the centre of the village of Axams (874 m). Upon arrival in Axams, you can take the same route back to Völs or make the ride even more scenic by adding on a section to Natterer See lake and then riding back down to Innsbruck from there. The route has been classified as intermediate and is just under six kilometres long. Conditionally suitable for families with older children

This easy family-friendly bike tour leads through many beautiful landscapes including the larch forests that are known as the "burning larches" in late autumn when their foliage turns a bright orange. Start at Arzkasten car park - follow the paved road west towards Weisland and Holzleiten - cross the main road at the underpass - continue east through the forest - pass the hamlets of Finsterfiecht, Thal, Wald and Roller to Unterstrass - continue north past Hotel Tyrol to the "Sonnenplateau Rundwanderweg" hiking trail - head west and follow the route slightly uphill back to the starting point.  

A scenic and diverse circuit around the southern alpine plateau. This tour takes a varied route through the hilly "Mittelgebirge", passing through forests, villages and quiet fields between the villages of Igls and Tulfes, high above the Inn Valley. From Igls, the route is initially flat. It leads past Lanser See lake to the village of Lans and then climbs gently up to the village of Sistrans (with old, painted farmhouses). The route continues past the "Wiesenhof" guesthouse to Judenstein, leads back via the villages of Rinn and Tulfes and then continues downhill towards Hall until it reaches the "Glockenhof". From there, it leads along the quiet country road through the Zimmertal (with views of the Karwendel mountains) to Ampass. From there, the route leads past the Gothic "Viertelsäule" column and uphill to Aldrans. Finally, the route passes the village of Lans and heads back to Igls on a hilly section characterised by several short but steep ascents and descents. Worth seeing along the way: Rinn/Judenstein: the little Baroque pilgrimage church Ampass: Pfarrkirche zum hl. Johannes (the Parish Church of St John) with its free-standing bell tower

On the trail of the Romans to Matrei am Brenner. This route starts in the village of Igls and heads up towards Patsch, passing the "Grünwalderhof" former Thurn-und-Taxis postal station, before continuing along the quiet Römerstraße road with its wonderful views of the Europabrücke bridge and the Stubai Alps. The route continues via Ellbögen and the districts of St Peter, Mühltal and Innerellbögen, towards Pfons and Matrei. Worth seeing along the way: Patsch: the Parish Church of St Donatus St. Peter: the Parish Church of St Peter Innerellbögen: Hinterlocher Mill (milling demonstrations every Friday from the end of July until the beginning of September) Matrei: the magnificently-decorated townhouses and taverns

From the start at the Natterer See campsite, you cycle through woods and meadows to the Eichhof, continue with a short ascent to the Nattererboden inn and then in the direction of Sonnalm/Natters. Follow the Sonnalmweg trail to the Hölltal stop on the Stubaitalbahn STB railway. From there, take the road to Natters as far as the Natters village square. Pass the Fritz butcher's shop and then turn left into the ‘Troie’. Cycle along the edge of the forest and finally return to the starting point - the Natterer See lake. You can shorten the route to the village centre of Natters by taking the Nockhofweg below the Nattererboden inn and arriving directly at Natters church in approx. 10 minutes.
