A place with an Olympic history
Around 10 - 15 kilometres from Innsbruck, Axams and the Axamer Lizum score points not only for their snow-sure downhill runs and extensive hiking trails, but also for their unique location: the imposing mountain massif of the Kalkkögel presents itself particularly beautifully here. Incidentally, their rugged peaks earned them the title "Dolomites of the North".
Axams is above all a place of living customs and traditions and has twice been the venue for the Winter Olympics. The world's best skiers competed in the nearby Axamer Lizum ski area in 1964 and 1976.
