The village of Pfaffenhofen has a long and interesting history. A titular bishop settled here in the fifth century and his episcopal see can still be admired today: he remained under the presbytery of the Parish Church of Our Lady of Assumption. On the edge of the forest above the village, you can also see the ruins of Hörtenberg Castle.
Pfaffenhofen isn't just a great destination for history fans – it is also ideal for sports enthusiasts. There are numerous hikes and mountain bike tours in the area, as well as leisurely bike rides along the green meadows by the Inn.
