The chapel is dedicated to St. John of Nepomuk and was built in response to a natural catastrophe. In the summer of 1983, a mudslide struck, flowing right down into the centre of the village of Axams. Thankfully, nobody lost their life and in order to thank God for this, the community of Axams built the Nepomuk Chapel. The chapel is located directly by Bachbrücke bridge on Olympiastraße road and was inaugurated in a ceremony held in 1986.
