FREE GUIDED WINTER HIKES AND SNOWSHOEING, INDEPENDENT ARRIVAL

December 2020 – April 2021

Hiking through snow-covered winter landscapes, hearing the snow crunching under your boots or snowshoes and enjoying the glittering white splendour of the surrounding peaks as your constant companion – now that is pure relaxation. When accompanied by trained mountain hiking guides, it becomes an experience. This is the winter fairytale waiting for you. From December to April. With the Welcome Card, the tours are even free of charge. As the winter hikes don't take you on a mission to conquer the peaks, the whole family can join: from children aged six and up to grandma and grandpa. We don't want to deprive anyone of the beauty of alpine nature and the chance to experience the Innsbruck region wrapped up in its winter blanket.

General info:

  • Guests are required to register for hikes in advance.
  • Travel to the starting point of each hike is to be carried out independently, either on public transport or by car. Our tip: the Welcome Card gives you free access to public transport within Innsbruck and free travel on routes to the villages in the region.
  • Regional hiking guides accompany you during hikes.
  • Diverse offerings await.

Please note:

  • As with hiking in summer, we only recommend hiking in winter if you have the right equipment. This means: sturdy, ankle-high footwear with non-slip soles, functional, weatherproof clothing (layers), gloves and a hat.
  • Sun protection, provisions to eat along the way and sufficient (non-alcoholic) drinks are also essential when hiking in winter.
  • Last minute changes and cancellations may occur due to weather or snow conditions. These will be communicated when registering for the hike.
