Snowshoeing to Simmeringalm

This walk begins at the Grünberg car park in Obsteig. Pass a wooden barn and follow the path (wide forest road) along part of the former piste. After about an hour's walking, you'll reach Zwischensimmering. From here, follow the signs for 'Simmeringalm' to the right and head along the forest path. It's about 60 minutes to your destination, where a cosy alpine hut awaits you. The return follows the same path as the way there, resulting in a total distance of approximately 11 kilometers.

Patscherkofel peak

The snowshoe hike begins at the Patscherkofelbahn mountain station at nearly 2,000 meters above sea level. From there, follow the ski tour route signs southward to the summit of Patscherkofel. This moderate trail offers winter and snowshoe hikers beautiful views. At the summit, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Tyrolean Alps. The Gipfelstube, located at 2,248 meters, provides a cozy spot to enjoy traditional cuisine and homemade delicacies. The return journey follows the same path as the ascent. The round-trip distance is approximately 6 kilometers.

Winter hiking trail from Gries - Juifenau

The snowshoe hike begins at the Marmota parking lot and passes by the fire station in Gries, following a groomed trail towards Juifenau. From there, one can continue to the Juifenalm, located at 2,022 meters, where homemade delicacies and traditional cuisine await. The return journey follows the same path as the outward route, allowing for a relaxed enjoyment of the winter landscape. The trail is moderately difficult, spanning approximately 13 kilometers with an elevation gain of about 800 meters.

Boasligbrücke snowshoe hike

Start at the car park next to the open-air pool in Barwies and head north towards Schatzstein and Boasligbrücke (Obermieming). The trail increases in steepness up to the Boasligbrücke bridge, which will then take you across the Stöttlbach stream. On the other side of the stream, take the path down into the valley, before passing the Stöttlalm alpine hut and continuing on to the Lehnbach car park. From here, it's a circuit along the Sonnenplateau above the village until you arrive back in Barwies and the starting point.

Snowshoeing to Fiechter Köpfl

The easy snowshoe hike covers around 5 kilometers and takes approximately 2 hours in total. Starting from the idyllic chapel above Fiecht, the trail leads through a wintery forest, always following the signs towards Fiechter Köpfl. A particularly scenic option for the return route is via Plateaublick, which offers stunning views over the Mieming Plateau. Those who want to round off the tour in a relaxed way can take a detour to the traditional Gasthof Stiegl in Untermieming and enjoy a hearty meal before heading back.

Snowshoeing to Grünberg

The starting point is the parking lot at the base station of the Grünberg lift. The ascent follows an abandoned ski slope to the top station of the former ski lift. At the highest point of the tour, at 1,480 meters, there is a large observation tower offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The total route covers approximately 5 kilometers with around 440 meters of elevation gain. After the snowshoe hike, a cozy stop at the Grünbergalm, located directly at the parking lot, is a great option.

Snowshoeing to Juifenalm

The snowshoe hike starts at the Juifenau parking lot and follows the toboggan run up to the cozy Juifenalm. There, hikers will find a welcoming stop with homemade delicacies from traditional cuisine. The tour, considered moderate, involves about 600 meters of elevation gain and offers a beautiful opportunity to enjoy the winter nature. The return trip follows the same route as the outward journey. In total, the hike spans about 11 kilometers.

Snowshoeing to Lehnberghaus

Start at Arzkasten car park and follow the wide forest road that takes you to a bridge over the Lehnbergbach stream. After the bridge, a path leads left towards the piste. This is the preferred route for ski tourers and snowshoers. From there, continue up to the Lehnberghaus mountain hut, where you can warm up and enjoy a bite to eat. If you don't want to walk back down the mountain from there, you can rent a toboggan from the hut and get back to the car park in next to no time. If you would like to continue your hike, you can put your snowshoes back on and walk for another approx. 30-40 minutes to the Lacke viewing platform (an additional 150 vertical metres), where you will be rewarded with stunning, wide-open views of the Inn Valley.

Snowshoe hike to the Neue Alplhütte mountain hut

The tour starts at the hiking car park above Wildermieming. From there, the path heads east, taking about an hour to reach the Strassberghaus (not managed). After passing the Strassberghaus, follow the trail beneath the Mieminger Chain for about another hour to the Neue Alplhütte. There, hikers are rewarded with a great view of the Inn Valley and delicious home-style cooking. The hut is an ideal location for family or company excursions. The return journey is the same as the outward route. With a total length of 11.4 kilometers and around 560 meters of ascent, this tour is considered moderately difficult.
