The ridge crossing from the Glungezerhütte mountain hut to the Lizumerhütte mountain hut via the "seven Tuxer summits" is a classic Alpine divide trek located along the Munich-Venice "Traumpfad" (Dream Way). This section is considered to be the striking Tyrolean centrepiece of the alpine crossing from the Glungezer (2,677 m) to the Lizum (2,019 m) in the Watten Valley.

Access

Travel from Hall to Tulfes and take the Glungezerbahn lift up to the Tulfeinalm mountain hut (single chairlift to the mountain lift station). Follow route no. 37 or 333 to the right as it leads briefly west down to the Tulfeinalm mountain hut (2,035 m). From there, go south along the "Recheis-Weg" trail up to the Tulfeinjöchl (2,278 m) and the valley lift station of the Glungezer-Materialseilbahn, a material ropeway for transporting goods. Continue along the panoramic Glungezer-Panoramasteig trail no. 333 to the Glungezerhütte mountain hut.

Sure-footedness and a good head for heights are required. The first half of the route to the Grafmartspitze doesn't always follow a path; sometimes it instead crosses areas of large rocks and boulders. However, the trail markings were recently updated so the route is well-marked and very scenic! The rocky ridge crossing from Glungezer to Lizum (Munich-Venice) is signposted throughout and secured with ropes in several places. A steel rope has been installed for the descent from Rosenjoch. When wet, however, the rocks are sometimes very slippery.

Due to the long walking time, it is absolutely necessary to leave the Glungezerhütte early in the morning. Take drinking water with you, there is no water along the route.
