Start at the Zirmbachalm mountain hut and follow trail AV153 for about 30 minutes until you come to a fork in the path. The lower path leads to the Kreuzjoch and the Rietzer Grieskogel. Take the upper path (AV154), which initially continues north for a few hundred metres before turning south-east. The route climbs gently uphill across sloping meadows with beautiful views of the Gaißkogel and later turns to head east around the slope to your destination.
