SKI TOURING

Scroll

Climb the mountains under your own steam, explore pristine winter landscapes and stride up deserted pistes. Ski touring gives you a whole new perspective and is sure to become a favourite sport for anyone who wants to discover winter nature in the most genuine way possible. Without the constant humming of ski lifts, either completely alone or with other kindred spirits. Our tour tips provide a variety of options for everyone, from taster tours for beginners to challenging routes for more experienced and athletic skiers.

Fotschertal, Gleirschtal, Kraspestal

A ski touring paradise in the Sellrain Valley

The natural Sellrain Valley is our number one ski touring paradise. The slopes can be climbed up and carved down on skis until late spring. Fantastic mountain landscapes rise up all around with routes that inspire both beginners and experienced ski touring professionals alike.

Some of the tours even take you up to over 3,000 metres above sea level. Beginners and any tourers who still want to learn and improve can visit the Ski & Mountain Sports School "Follow Me", where it is possible to organise guided ski tours. The educational Lampsenspitze touring trail is also highly recommended and provides information about avalanche awareness and tour planning.

An extra tip: the ATC Avalanche Training Center in Praxmar and Kühtai. This permanent facility helps visitors to practice searching for avalanche victims using avalanche transceivers and probes.
