Gerhardhof circular hike

70 M 70 M
5.2 KM 5.2 KM
easy easy
This circular hike starts from the car park at the Gemeindehaus (village hall), which is located opposite the listed church in the centre of the village. The route first takes us east along the village road to Mühlgasse road and then continues out of the village towards Angertal (the Anger Valley). Soon, we'll see the former Bergdoktorhaus up on our left, a building made famous by the TV series "Der Bergdoktor", and shortly afterwards the small Lettenkapelle chapel at the side of the road. The route continues from there along a paved road and various signs along the way point us in the direction of the Gerhardhof. After a few minutes, the route takes us right onto a narrow forest trail that leads southeast through a sparse forest towards a fire pit. From there, the route continues straight on towards the roofs of the Gerhardhof off in the distance. At the next fork in the trail, we take the path on the right and follow it for a short distance to the Gerhardhof campsite and guesthouse. For anyone who does not want to stop off for a break and a bite to eat at the Gerhardhof, you can take the forest road that turns off to the right just before the campsite and then turn left at the first junction. From there, the route takes us along beautiful forest trails back towards Wildermieming. Always keeping left, we continue along the trail to a small gravel pit and a hikers' car park above the main road. From there, a paved road leads past the outlying farms in Unterfeld and back to the starting point - the church tower in the distance also acts as a guide.     Highlight: the display boards in the Anger Valley that provide information about flora and fauna.

Circular trail from St. Sigmund - Haggen (2)

5.9 KM 5.9 KM

Start at the car park, follow the route past the two forest lakes and then turn right and continue through the forest to Haggen. Cross the bridge, continue past the Forellenhof Haggen and then take the path that leads from the "Maria Schnee" chapel across the fields towards the entrance of the valley. Cross the road and continue in the same direction along the path between the fields until you reach the start of the paved road. At the junction, follow the short uphill section to a holiday home in the forest and then take the trail to the Brandhöfe farms. From the farms, follow the route down to the main road and continue towards the entrance of the valley and Alt-Peida. After the cattle grid, cross the bridge to the other side of the valley and turn to follow the forest trail back the other way, away from the entrance of the valley. At the point where the trail meets the paved route into the Gleirsch Valley, take the route downhill over the bridge and past the fox playground. Shortly after the playground, turn left and continue back past the forest lakes to the starting point.

Hike to the Salfainssee biotope

2.51 KM 2.51 KM
medium medium
From the car park, we hike across the bridge over the Senderbach stream and then follow the forest road for a short distance. A few metres after the first left-hand bend, we turn right to follow the shortcut along a wide, cleared path through the trees, crossing the road once more and continuing up to the private Salfains Alm mountain hut (1,738 m). From the hut, we hike diagonally uphill to a small wooden cross, before continuing west through a small bowl and then out to the right onto the wide plateau that is home to the romantic Schönangerl/Salfainssee biotope and the Salfains hill (2,000 m). If you hike north for about 300 m from there, you will come to a small summit cross located just below the hill with magnificent views of the Inn Valley. Descent: hike back along the ascent route as described above or take the route via the Kemater Alm mountain hut, where you can stop for a break and a bite to eat.
