Bergheim - Schmalzgrubenalm - Sellrain. This hike starts at the Eisbrücke car park and leads to the Alpengasthof Bergheim Fotsch alpine guesthouse, before continuing to the Furkesalm - Schmalzgrube and along route no. 13 via Tanneben to Sellrain.

The Path of Reflection Axams - Mails

This is an easy walking route in a northern and very sunny part of Axams where you can enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding villages. Along the way, you pass several benches and wayside crosses where you can stop for a break. The route can be walked in either direction.

The Path of Reflection from Mötz to Telfs

The Path of Reflection leads hikers from Maria Locherboden in Mötz, through the village of Mieming and then on to the modern Heilig-Geist-Kirche (Church of the Holy Spirit) in Telfs. Along the way, twelve stations by young artists link messages from the bible with the facts of nature and the possibilities of art.  The duration of the hike depends on your personal pace and how long you spend at each station. To enjoy a really relaxing walk and take full advantage of the peace and quiet, you should plan on at least half a day for the entire route. A description of the stations

The Path of Reflection in Ranggen

The contemplation trail begins and ends at the over 500-year-old parish church of St. Magnus in Ranggen. Parking at and below the parish church, free of charge. Follow the yellow signs below the parish church and turn right onto a side path through the village, past the hamlets of Riedpuite and Viescheide, a short distance on asphalt to the first station of the contemplation trail a little above Ranggen. From there on, you enter soft forest soil. An ascending path leads through shady forest to the chapel, where seven stations invite you to contemplate, back along the forest path to the parish church.  

The Path of Reflection to the pilgrimage church of Maria Locherboden

From Badesee car park, follow the forest road that leads east towards Untermieming. At the crossing with a paved road, continue straight on. After a few metres, turn right over the bridge. At the fork in the road, follow signs for the "Besinnungsweg" (Path of Reflection).  Alternate route: If you go left at the crossroads, the route leads to the suspension bridge in Stams. The additional walking time is approximately 30 minutes each way along a slightly steeper hiking trail.  On the Path of Reflection, you pass several reflection stations featuring viewpoints overlooking the Inn Valley. The route continues along a forest trail through a sparse pine forest that leads to the pilgrimage church of Maria Locherboden, which stands proudly high above the Inn Valley. For a circular walk, hike back along the same path for about ten minutes until you come to the fork in the road. From there, follow the signs to Zein and then continue along a paved road that leads back to the Badesee car park via Tabland.

Bettlersteig trail

The two-kilometre-long Bettlersteig trail connects the Pfaffenhofer Alm mountain hut (1,694 m) with the Oberhofer Melkalm hut (1,669 m). The pleasant route leads through areas of mixed woodland and impressive coniferous forests, passing plenty of streams and a little waterfall or two along the way.

Bienenoase - bees nature trail

Bee nature trail at the Sistrans Mühlteich pond. The bee nature trail includes 20 display boards with lots of interesting information about bees, as well as honey and wax production. From the Tigls car park at the primary school in the village of Sistrans, follow the road that leads east into the village. When you come to the sign for the "Mühlteich" pond, follow it left down to the main road, cross the main road to continue north and then follow the signs for the "Bienenlehrpfad" bee nature trail. Finally, cross the stream and head south back to the centre of Sistrans.

Birgitzer Alm - Birgitzköpfl

Attractive mountain tour in the Axamer Lizum. Start from the Axamer Lizum car park (1,583m) > past the Birgitzköpfllift valley station > always follow the signs at the edge of the forest in the direction of the Birgitzeralm > Butterbründlsteig > through the forest, always slightly uphill to the Birgitzer Alm (1. 808m) > head south uphill to the Birgitzköpfl mountain cross and continue to the Birgitzköpfllift mountain station (2,098m) > return to the valley either with the Birgitzköpfllift or on foot in steep serpentines along the piste on the Pötschachsteig.

Birgitzer Alm, hiking trail no. 22

The trail to the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut starts at the church in Birgitz. It leads up a forest road through lovely alpine meadows and takes about two hours. At the halfway point, you pass Gasthof Adelshof, a restaurant located at an altitude of 1,315 metres above sea level. Parking spaces for the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut are available just above the Adelshof. From there, the path leads through the forest and takes about an hour. From the Birgitzer Alm, you can hike to the Götzner Alm mountain hut (1,542 metres above sea level) or Axamer Lizum (1,564 metres above sea level). Both of these hikes take about 30 minutes. Hiking maps are available for these routes at the tourist information centre in Axams.

Birgitzköpfl circular hike

Attractive circular hike in the Axamer Lizum to the Birgitzer Alm with a magnificent view. The tour starts at the Axamer Lizum car park. Past the Birgitzköpfllift valley station, the trail leads along the edge of the forest in the direction of the Birgitzeralm (signposted Butterbründlsteig) through the forest, always climbing gently to the Birgitzer Alm (1,808m). Continue in a southerly direction up to the Birgitzköpfllift mountain station at 2,098m. From here either take the Birgitzköpfllift down to the valley or continue in a southerly direction, slightly descending to Halsl (1992m) and return via the Halslsteig trail to the Axamer Lizum car park - walking time: approx. 3.5 hHm  

Birkeben circular walking trail in Oberperfuss

Route no. 4: From the tourist information centre in Oberperfuss, walk north along the main road until you come to the edge of the village. From there, turn right to the football field and then take the shady forest trail towards the tennis courts. Finally, follow the path towards the parish church, where there is a free car park, and continue past Hotel Krone and back to the tourist information centre.

Birkenberg - Wasserwaal - Lehen

From the car park, head north-east and continue past the tennis courts to the Birkenberg Church. The hike then takes you west along the Bergwachtsteig trail, through the Föhrenwald forest and past the scouts' hut. After crossing the bridge over the Arzbergklamm gorge, the path is paved and heads uphill for around 50 metres, before turning right at the small cliff face and rejoining the Bergwachtsteig trail. Follow the trail to the district of Wasserwaal and then continue downhill from there along the paved road. At the bend, turn right, follow the road until after the last houses and then take the forest road to Gasthaus Lehen.

Buchweg trail to Oberperfuss

Burg Klamm Castle – Gschwenter Hohlweg trail

A simple circular hike covering relatively few vertical metres. Start from Grünberg car park, walk north-east towards Finsterfiecht and then continue towards "Klammer Mühle" mill. At the fork in the path, follow the signs for "Burg Klamm" castle. The castle is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside. The hike back leads along a gravel road up to Fronhausen. From there, cross the main road and follow a paved road (low traffic), past the hamlet of Freundsheim to Gschwent. Upon walking through the district of Gschwent, you'll soon come to the "Gschwenter Hohlweg" trail. Afterwards, follow the paved road towards Obsteig. At the church, cross the main road and walk back to the car park through the various hamlets.

St Petersberg Castle

Start at the school car park and follow the road towards the shooting range before continuing uphill to the waterfall where you'll find a small freshwater pond and places to sit or lounge and relax. From there, follow the signs for "Schloss Petersberg" (Petersberg Castle) and the red-and-white trail markings until you reach the castle, which is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside. The trail continues past an idyllic pond that belongs to the castle and then follows the access road down into the valley. After the barriers, turn right onto a dirt road through the fields. When you come to the first crossroads, continue straight on. After a short distance, you'll come to another crossing and this time you should keep right. Continue along the paved road until you reach the houses and then turn right again. On the way back, you will pass the old Silz Mill. Shortly after the mill, turn left and follow signs to the "Wasserfall" (waterfall). This brings you back to the starting point.
